This is a favorite jumpsuit for warm weather; however I love to make my pieces work year round if I can. Luckily, since this one piece is a neutral, army green it plays well into all seasons. I layered leggings and a long sleeved shirt underneath with a scarf for additional warmth. This was shot at the Baylands...

This is my first trip to Hawaii ( see my list of things to do in Honolulu / Oahu ) and I am staying a full two weeks. Though I am spending the majority of February in Oahu the weather will be warm; a welcomed juxtaposition to northern California's dark, stormy, and colder winter. I felt so inspired by...

My next destination is Honolulu, Hawaii this February. There is never a bad time to visit Hawaii, however, luckily for me February in Oahu is far less crowded and one of the cheapest times to stay. This will be my first time visiting the Hawaiian Islands and I am thrilled I am traveling to Honolulu out of the other...

Giving gifts can be such a fun way to express your love or appreciation of someone. It shows the thought and care put into selecting a present for your loved one. However, chocolate, flowers, and teddy bears aren't for everyone. I've put together a list of 27 unique Valentine's Day gifts that aren't completely heart themed, but still...

Being the good Californian girl that I am, my favorite snack or brunch item always involves an avocado. Put that business on top of gluten free toast and I'm in basic girl heaven. It's healthy, simple, and so quick you can make it under 5 minutes. This recipe is decidedly versatile; you can try an abundance of iterations:...

Outfit of the Day: I love styling this olive green suede shift dress with the suede over the knee boots. While the palette is harmonious with soft neutrals it's balanced by the strong lines and retro inspired look. This is an ideal winter or fall outfit for me.
The Boots: One of the many reasons I love these over the knee boots are how long they can make your legs look. When paired with a short skirt or dress they can significantly add flattering length visually. Additionally, the flat heel is comfortable enough to last in all day (which I love!).
The Dress: Shift dresses can be really flattering on different body shapes-especially those with a sporty figure or a fuller stomach. If you are really full hipped-like me-I would recommend finding one that has lines that give definition to your shape or a design that creates movement and is short. You are trying to show off the length of your legs, not look like a box. To dress this up I would pair the dress with a long sleeveless vest, heels, and a clutch. Bonus: If you're having a bloated day or just feel like being really loose and comfortable a shift dress is a very forgiving and easy to wear piece.
The Hat: I may be obsessed with hats (if you don't believe me, check out my post on "Why Accessorizing with a Hat is the Best" here). I think a good hat can really be the cherry on top of a outfit. This floppy wool hat is perfect for most fall or winter outfits while keeping your head warm. I especially like it for retro looks. I'd pair the wide floppy brim with flared jeans, a peasant top, platforms heels, and aviators.
