My favorite place I've stayed in Charleston (other than for free at very special, private abodes...aka: with friends) is a charming bed and breakfast in historic downtown off of Queen Street. The location is beyond perfect! Take a short walk down the cobblestone streets to King's Street shopping or Saturday's farmer's market, my favorite bookstore, or all the gorgeous historic Georgian and antebellum style houses.

The owners of the quaint AirBnB-Joe and Ben-were so kind and helped us find all the best local spots and prepared our very own specially requested breakfast (I'm talking plates of bacon, fresh blueberry scones and muffins, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc). The home itself was expertly decorated by Joe, a professional interior designer and event planner. I loved his balance of history, masculine touches, and southern charm. It gave me real #designgoals and inspiration. I could see this being the more formal, southern style of Emily Henderson's new tudor home for some reason? Maybe I'm just associating pretty, shiny things with other sparkly objects though.

Besides the location, decor, and food the place was so deliciously retreat worthy! The luxurious bathroom had terry cloth robes, specialty spa goods, and candles. After washing the day last fiscal year away in the gorgeous walk in shower I would climb into bed with the 1,000 thread count sheets and down feathered....well, everything...and just sink into the bliss. It was an experience and memory that will withstand time.
